Whether your clients require a specialist or after-hours care, OVRS thinks of our facility as an extension of your practice. It is both an honor and a privilege to care for your beloved patients and we do not take these responsibilities lightly. You can be sure that we will offer all of your referred clients the level of care they need, to have the best chance at a positive outcome.

Our whole staff is committed to creating an environment that is nurturing, caring, and compassionate, to ensure that we meet the needs of all of the clients and pets that you refer to our facility.

Referral Policy

If one of your clients needs to schedule a consultation at OVRS, we ask that you, as the primary veterinarian, fill out a referral form before the client schedules an appointment. When the primary veterinarian and the specialist work together, it leads to optimal care for every animal that is referred to our facility.

Referral Communication

Communication is incredibly important to each member of the OVRS staff and we will keep you informed of any developments with your patient’s diagnosis and progress while we are treating them. We provide you with updates and prompt, yet detailed treatment summaries and test results. OVRS wants to work as a team with your office so we can conquer your patient’s most challenging health needs.

Radiology

The Radiology Department offers teleradiology services to all general practitioners. Whether there is a challenging case that you wish to collaborate on or you would like all of your cases to be evaluated by a board-certified radiologist, Oakland Veterinary Referral Services can help bring your imaging to a new level.

The Radiology Department is typically in the office Monday through Friday from 8am–4:30pm. Most image reviews will have a turnround time of 2-3 business days.

The following fees will be applied to each case:
Up to 6 images: $78
Greater than 6 images $108
Comparative Dates/Multiple Dates $108
